Base Salary
$135k - $155k/yr
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks by analyzing system metrics, database queries, and cloud resource usage before they affect users.
- Build and maintain the internal developer platform, including self-service tools and deployment pipelines.
- Operate and secure production Kubernetes clusters serving the customer-facing website, with infrastructure managed as code.
- Partner with application teams to optimize slow SQL queries and manage database schema changes safely.
- Investigate infrastructure requests to identify underlying needs and propose durable long-term solutions.
- Automate systemic fixes, improve alert quality, and reduce operational toil.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM discipline.
- At least 1 year of professional experience with networking or infrastructure projects.
- At least 1 year of professional programming experience in Python, Go, or a similar infrastructure or platform language.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Kubernetes in multi-region or large-scale environments is preferred.
- Experience with CI and DevOps pipelines, deployment tools, or related infrastructure projects is preferred, including tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, ArgoCD, Argo Workflows, or Helm.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ClickHouse, or OpenTelemetry is preferred.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including indexing and query performance in distributed or multi-region deployments, is preferred.
- Open-source contributions or development of open-source tools are preferred.
- Applicants must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
