Base Salary
$175k - $280k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and own iOS and Android test automation integrated with CI.
- Define and maintain sanity, regression, and manual test coverage across nightly, weekly, and release builds.
- Automate real mobile user workflows and validate behavioral results across onboarding, chats, payments, notifications, and settings.
- Document failures clearly so engineers can diagnose and fix them efficiently.
- Automate bug triage and distinguish app, backend, OS, device, network, and test-harness failures.
- Improve test isolation, data stability, assertions, and retry behavior.
- Keep dashboards, TestRail, known issues, and release notes synchronized with current release risk.
- Partner with app engineers to move suitable checks into unit and integration tests.
Requirements
- 7–8 years of software QA or test engineering experience, including at least 4 years building mobile test automation for iOS and/or Android.
- Hands-on experience with at least one mobile automation framework such as XCUITest, XCTest, Espresso, Appium, Maestro, or Detox.
- Strong scripting and programming skills sufficient to build test harnesses and small tools.
- Experience integrating tests into CI/CD or release pipelines.
- Ability to debug flaky failures and provide actionable information to engineers.
- Understanding of release risk and test prioritization.
- Comfort working with frequently changing builds and incomplete specifications.
- Preferred: experience testing both iOS and Android.
- Preferred: experience with TestRail or a similar test management tool.
- Preferred: experience with Datadog, RUM, Firebase, crash reporting, or other mobile observability tools.
- Preferred: experience testing AI, voice, chat, payments, subscriptions, or latency-sensitive features.
- Preferred: experience building dashboards or release reports.
- Preferred: experience collaborating with developers to move checks into unit or integration tests.
