Deployment Engineer (Tuesday-Saturday shift)
SS&C TechnologiesResponsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute software deployments, upgrades, patches, and installations for Advent financial software in client environments.
- Create and maintain installation guides, runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and other deployment documentation.
- Automate deployment processes and build CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with development, quality assurance, support, clients, and internal teams to resolve pre- and post-deployment issues.
- Perform post-deployment validation and testing, provide technical troubleshooting, and support weekend upgrade work.
- Establish deployment, configuration management, and system administration best practices and conduct root cause analysis of deployment failures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in software deployment, release engineering, or DevOps.
- Proficiency with PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, TeamCity, or Octopus Deploy.
- Strong understanding of Windows and Linux Server operating systems, database technologies, preferably SQL Server, network configurations, and infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and independent-work abilities; financial software or fintech experience is a plus.
