Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end mathematical and statistical architecture of complex AI systems from data integration and feature engineering through training, inference, and monitoring.
- Design, develop, deploy, and continuously improve scalable deep learning and agentic AI models for complex enterprise systems.
- Apply linear algebra, optimization, numerical methods, statistics, and causal inference to improve model robustness and performance.
- Guide modeling choices including approaches, loss functions, evaluation metrics, and validation strategies.
- Optimize models and pipelines for speed, scalability, memory and compute efficiency, and accuracy using pruning, quantization, distributed training, and GPU or accelerator optimization.
- Establish architectural standards and best practices for AI-centric systems across the organization.
- Mentor AI engineers, AI scientists, and software developers and review designs, code, and models.
- Evaluate and evolve AI frameworks, libraries, tools, cloud platforms, and emerging applied mathematics and AI technologies.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a closely related quantitative discipline.
- 10+ years of overall software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in applied mathematics, statistical modeling, and deep learning systems.
- Demonstrated experience architecting and deploying AI solutions in production environments.
- Strong experience designing, training, and deploying deep learning models using modern AI frameworks, with understanding of experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
- Experience with large datasets and distributed or high-performance computing environments.
- Deep expertise in linear algebra, multivariate calculus, probability theory, optimization, statistical modeling, and causal inference.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and strong software engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, system design, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Scala, Kotlin, or Rust is highly desirable.
