Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain software components supporting the TCP/IP stack and SD-WAN feature set.
- Develop and improve routing, policy-based routing, link-quality measurement, ZTNA, and AI-based routing capabilities.
- Evaluate and refine software designs and implementations to improve performance, reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.
- Research emerging technologies, application-layer protocols, and AI/ML approaches for current and future FortiGate products.
- Identify product enhancement opportunities through hands-on use of Fortinet products and recommend development improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming and software development.
- Experience developing software in Linux or UNIX-like environments.
- Understanding of operating systems, TCP/IP networking, POSIX APIs, and socket programming.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, learning, and adaptability skills.
- Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity concepts, especially RIP, OSPF, BGP, and their implementations, is an asset.
- Familiarity with supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, neural networks, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face is an asset.
- Knowledge of LLMs, SLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, embeddings, fine-tuning, model inference, and resource-efficient AI deployment is an asset.
- Basic Linux/UNIX system administration and server management knowledge is an asset.
- A Master’s degree or Ph.D. is considered an asset.
