Responsibilities
- Perform independent verification and validation of programming modifications and enhancements across IBM mainframe and Linux-based platforms.
- Plan, execute, and document testing for annual January releases and additional changes throughout the year.
- Test software and processes during migration from mainframe systems to Linux and SAP Data Services environments.
- Certify software configurations and verify correct deployment of application components.
- Validate statistics outputs, production reports, data transformations, replication activities, and system results.
- Investigate data anomalies, recommend remediation actions, and perform segmentation testing as needed.
- Test reports and stored procedures in the Compliance Data Warehouse affected by system changes.
- Develop and execute system test plans, test cases, test scripts, and data validation processes.
- Document test results, defects, and issues and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, database administrators, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and validate outcomes.
Requirements
- BS and five years of overall experience, or four years of experience in lieu of the degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust requiring U.S. citizenship or a Green Card.
- Experience with SQL and SAP Data Services ETL scripts.
- Experience running data extracts in DB2, including creating tables and extracting data.
- Basic ability to read and write simple COBOL programs.
- Knowledge of JCL, IBM SORT, IEBGENER, and FTP.
- Knowledge of Python sufficient to read and understand code.
- Experience using Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, SharePoint, Word, and Access, for reporting, analysis, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience writing system test plans, developing data validation processes, executing test cases or scripts, and documenting defects and test results.
- Preferred experience with IRS, federal financial, or large-scale revenue and financial systems.
- Preferred familiarity with Sybase IQ or similar columnar databases.
- Preferred experience with modernization or migration from mainframe to open systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
