Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve complex Chromium issues, including upgrade breakages, rendering race conditions, and upstream-change incidents.
- Own the PDF accessibility post-processing pipeline and implement tagging and compliance features for exported PDFs.
- Build monitoring and testing infrastructure to detect Chromium changes before production.
- Design resilient accessibility solutions despite frequent changes in Chromium output structures.
- Contribute to export infrastructure, format optimization, and distributed systems reliability.
- Document Chromium behavior and architectural decisions to strengthen team knowledge.
Requirements
- Deep experience with Chromium or another browser rendering engine.
- Comfort with C++ for investigating complex third-party codebases.
- Strong Java backend engineering experience.
- Experience debugging layered systems spanning multiple codebases and languages.
- Knowledge of PDF specifications or experience with PDF generation and post-processing.
- Background in rendering pipelines, graphics programming, or print production systems.
- Experience maintaining systems with frequently changing upstream dependencies.
