Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to iOS engineer and technical decision-maker for the Design Systems domain.
- Own architecture, module boundaries, dependency direction, API design, and technical decisions for shared iOS components and design-system tooling.
- Improve component composability, flexibility, documentation, AI readiness, and design-asset maintenance and release processes.
- Drive modern Swift concurrency adoption, including async/await, structured concurrency, actors, cancellation, and data-race prevention.
- Improve CI/CD, testing strategy, build times, flaky-test reduction, and reliable engineering feedback loops.
- Represent iOS in the Frontend Platform Council and align shared platform standards across domains.
- Collaborate with Staff Engineers, EMs, PMs, Designers, Android/Web engineers, and Security teams.
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through code reviews, RFCs, ADRs, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with SwiftUI, UIKit, and modernizing large-scale applications.
- Solid understanding of Swift concurrency, including async/await, structured concurrency, task cancellation, actors, and data-race prevention.
- Experience with large-scale modular iOS applications and module boundaries, dependency direction, ownership, and inter-module API design.
- Experience building or scaling a design system or component library used by multiple teams.
- Ability to lead architecture and technical decisions within a product domain while balancing delivery speed and long-term platform health.
- Experience improving engineering quality and developer productivity through CI/CD, testing strategy, build-time improvements, flaky-test reduction, and feedback loops.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, Android/Web, and Security teams.
- Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards through reviews, RFCs/ADRs, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Clear spoken and written English communication.
