Responsibilities
- Own architecture and design for EasyMesh, Wi-Fi optimization, remote and local controllers, backhaul management, steering, onboarding, and metrics across RDK-B, prplOS, OpenWRT, and OpenSync.
- Break large features into sequenced work and produce design documents, feature matrices, and validation reports.
- Maintain the RDK-B Yocto layer and patch framework, lead quarterly rebases, and keep gateway and extender reference builds healthy.
- Close TR-181 data-model gaps exposed through USP, UBus, and RBus, including Wi-Fi DataElements, DHCP, and DNS.
- Deliver WPS, Wi-Fi EasyConnect, DPP, and backhaul onboarding with WPA3/SAE, 6 GHz, and Wi-Fi 7 MLO support.
- Triage and fix mesh, IPv6, routing, firmware-upgrade, CPU, and memory-regression blockers using measured before-and-after data.
- Upstream fixes to RDK Central, PrplOS, and OpenWRT, evaluate community contributions, and contribute to prplOS/prplMesh and OpenSync porting work.
- Review code, mentor engineers, and collaborate with QA, program management, and regional architects.
Requirements

- Strong C and C++ skills in Linux user space plus shell scripting, with experience debugging targets using gdb, core dumps, /proc, and packet captures.
- Hands-on experience with RDK-B, including CCSP components, RBus, OneWifi, WebConfig, Yocto, and BitBake builds, plus experience with PrplOS.
- Deep knowledge of 802.11, hostapd, wpa_supplicant, 802.11k/v/r, BTM, WPA3/SAE, 6 GHz, and MLO.
- Working knowledge of EasyMesh and IEEE 1905.1, including topology discovery, TLVs, controller and agent state machines, and backhaul.
- Experience with TR-181 and USP/TR-369; TR-069 experience is a plus.
- Strong IP networking knowledge covering IPv4/IPv6 dual stack, DHCPv4/v6, router advertisements, routing, netfilter/iptables, and QoS.
- Track record of taking features from spike to GA and producing written designs that other engineers can implement.
- Fluency with Git, GitHub pull-request workflows, quilt-style patch management, and Jenkins CI.
