QA Automation Engineer

- Design, develop, and maintain reusable Java-based automation frameworks, API clients, page object models, test-data utilities, and diagnostic tools.
- Build automated coverage for GravityZone web interfaces, REST/JSON-RPC APIs, backend workflows, and system integrations.
- Integrate automated test suites with Bamboo and TestRail, investigate failures, reduce flaky tests, and improve execution speed and reporting.
- Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to improve testability, review automation code, define engineering standards, and mentor QA engineers.
- Support release readiness through acceptance, smoke, exploratory, and targeted manual testing; investigate defects and contribute to release-owner activities.
- Provision and troubleshoot cloud and on-premise test environments and maintain QA virtualization infrastructure including Proxmox.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in software development, test automation, or quality engineering, including substantial hands-on experience building automated test systems.
- Strong Java programming, object-oriented design, debugging, Maven, TestNG, and Selenium WebDriver experience.
- Experience owning automation framework architecture with reusable libraries, page object models, maintainable test code, code reviews, and engineering standards.
- Experience automating web interfaces including Web Components and Shadow DOM, REST/JSON-RPC APIs, asynchronous backend workflows, and integrations, with SQL or NoSQL data validation.
- Experience reducing flaky tests, improving test execution speed, creating reliable test-data setup and cleanup, and integrating and troubleshooting CI/CD test suites, preferably with Bamboo.
- Experience using AI-assisted software development and testing tools, including LLM-based tools, AI-generated test cases, automation code generation, test analysis, and debugging.
- Ability to read application code, improve testability with developers, distinguish product defects from automation or environment failures, and use Git and pull-request workflows.
- Hands-on TestRail experience managing test cases, runs, results, and Jira traceability; integration of automated results with TestRail is highly desirable.
- Experience testing on Windows and Linux, with practical networking knowledge and familiarity with VMware or Proxmox virtualized environments.
- Strong testing fundamentals, risk-based judgment, automation-first practices, and the ability to perform manual or exploratory testing for release validation.
- Ability to lead technical improvements, mentor QA engineers, collaborate across time zones, communicate clearly in English, and document work in Jira and Confluence.
- ISTQB or another software testing certification is a bonus.
- Experience testing applications in cloud environments including AWS and GCP is a bonus.
- Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or similar automation tools is a bonus.
- Demonstrated use of AI technologies to improve software quality, test automation, debugging, and engineering productivity is a bonus.
