Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain database solutions, data models, SQL queries, and data marts for BI and self-service reporting.
  • Build, maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot scalable ETL/ELT pipelines from diverse internal and external sources.
  • Develop and maintain T-SQL tables, stored procedures, views, functions, and SSIS packages.
  • Orchestrate, monitor, and troubleshoot data workflows and pipeline failures.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, data-quality controls, and processes to resolve blocking, deadlocks, inefficient queries, and data-integrity issues.
  • Collaborate with BI developers, analysts, business stakeholders, and technology counterparts to ensure data availability, quality, and usability.
  • Maintain documentation for data flows, schemas, and processes and continuously improve data management systems.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in a SQL Server database environment, including database design, data loading and unloading, performance tuning, and security best practices.
  • Strong ability to write complex SQL using CTEs, subqueries, joins, and temporary tables.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools such as Airbyte, dbt, or AWS Glue.
  • Proficiency with AWS services including S3, IAM roles and policies, and Lambda for database and data-pipeline solutions.
  • Experience orchestrating workflows with Apache Airflow and/or Stonebranch UAC, including design, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Deep experience developing SSIS packages and using data-flow task transformations.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices.
  • Knowledge of Snowflake is preferred, and familiarity with Power BI is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business staff across geographic areas and manage competing priorities.
