Base Salary
$104k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a three-person AI/ML computer vision team and define technical direction, sprint goals, coding standards, and model evaluation metrics.
- Design, modify, and train custom YOLO architectures for full-motion video object detection.
- Architect pipelines for ingesting, cleaning, preprocessing, and securely storing production-recorded video data for training.
- Define annotation and labeling standards, curate datasets, and address class imbalance, weather variation, and low-contrast conditions.
- Optimize model inference speed and accuracy using NVIDIA TensorRT, DeepStream, and CUDA.
- Integrate live computer vision inference pipelines with video streaming, software, and system architecture components.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the AI/ML pod and translate system requirements into technical tasks within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related AI/ML-focused field.
- At least 7 years of related technical experience, including at least 4 years developing and deploying deep learning or computer vision models with a strong object-detection focus.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a CBP background investigation.
- Availability as a local candidate for a hybrid schedule in Ashburn, Virginia.
- Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, and advanced YOLO model implementation and fine-tuning.
- Experience training models from scratch, including custom anchor-box design, loss-function modification, and hyperparameter tuning.
- Experience with NVIDIA CUDA, cuDNN, TensorRT, or ONNX and with RTSP, HLS, or file-based video processing.
- Expert-level Python programming and ability to write clean, modular, optimized code.
- Experience with data curation, active learning, and annotation tools such as CVAT, LabelStudio, or Roboflow.
- Preferred experience with multi-object tracking algorithms such as DeepSORT or ByteTrack.
- Preferred familiarity with AWS SageMaker, EC2 GPU instances, NVIDIA Jetson or other edge hardware, and federal or CBP datasets.
