Python/Front Office Software Engineer for Commodities UK
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Partner with Precious Metals and Agriculture Trading, Quantitative Research, Sales, Middle Office, and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain front-office trading applications and systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues in a time-sensitive environment.
- Improve code quality, performance, security, and system resilience through development, review, and debugging.
- Collaborate with global technology teams and contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and proficient advanced experience.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math, or equivalent training and relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing performant, large-scale systems in an object-oriented or functional language such as Python or Java.
- Understanding of application resiliency, security, and software engineering processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Commodities, finance, or investment banking software development experience is preferred.
- Willingness to become proficient in Python if it is not already a primary language.
