Responsibilities
- Break larger projects into tasks, deliver them in phases, and collaborate with engineers to ensure timely delivery.
- Build and ship web and mobile application experiences across Affirm’s consumer products.
- Design, develop, and launch APIs at scale.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support operational availability, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts.
- Navigate large codebases, debug code, write tested and extensible software, conduct code reviews, and participate in interviews.
Requirements
- At least 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience shipping web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Experience shipping mobile applications using native or cross-platform technologies such as React Native.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale using Kotlin or Python.
- Ability to translate business problems into solutions spanning multiple software components.
- Strong debugging, code review, communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
