Responsibilities
- Deliver complete software solutions using practices that support performance and reliability.
- Translate business stakeholder requirements into compatible software solutions.
- Develop knowledge of financial markets and collaborate effectively with business partners.
- Build Python API services and microservices for trading and portfolio management systems.
- Collaborate with DataOps, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on technology choices.
- Participate in production support, including monitoring and managing applications, APIs, overnight batches, and data feeds.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.
- Support C#/.NET applications as needed while focusing new development on Python.
- Contribute to engineering knowledge sharing, industry engagement, and a learning-oriented culture.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong Python skills and production experience building API services and microservices.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and the ability to write performant queries.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement durable solutions.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures or a strong willingness to learn them.
- Willingness to learn and support C#/.NET applications.
- Preferred experience with Hive, Apache NiFi, and Apache Airflow.
- Strong communication, collaboration, autonomy, ownership, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers is a preferred qualification.
