Responsibilities

  • Engage mission customers and stakeholders to understand objectives, constraints, workflows, data, security context, and success criteria.
  • Translate ambiguous mission needs into technical requirements, solution concepts, and executable delivery paths.
  • Develop and document architectures covering platforms, access patterns, secure compute environments, data flows, developer tooling, policies, and system-design options.
  • Create implementation guidance, backlog entries, architecture artifacts, decision records, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Evaluate solution alternatives and technical tradeoffs while identifying risks, dependencies, gaps, and practical paths forward.
  • Improve front-door, demand-discovery, onboarding, consulting, and feedback processes and share recurring customer insights.
  • Help mission teams discover and navigate approved capabilities, access processes, constraints, and support models.
  • Collaborate across platform, laboratory, enterprise technology, information security, software, data, and systems engineering teams; lead defined technical tasks or small efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with typically at least 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of related experience, or a PhD with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience with solution or systems architecture, requirements analysis, mission-needs translation, platform integration, secure computing, access patterns, data workflows, cloud or hybrid platforms, developer tooling, or related technical practices.
  • Experience engaging customers or mission stakeholders and translating their needs into solution concepts, architecture products, implementation guidance, backlog entries, or delivery roadmaps.
  • Experience evaluating technical options and tradeoffs, analyzing multiple information sources, and identifying risks, dependencies, and practical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information, build consensus, collaborate with technical and organizational stakeholders, and lead defined technical efforts.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S. government security clearance within one year of hire; U.S. citizenship is required for security-clearance eligibility.
  • Preferred graduate degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, cybersecurity, systems engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Preferred experience in customer-facing solution architecture, technical consulting, requirements discovery, platform intake, capability adoption, controlled computing environments, software delivery, DevSecOps, data platforms, analytics, modeling and simulation, or mission workflows.
  • Preferred active TS/SCI clearance.
