Base Salary

$125k - $150k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop automation to deploy and manage on-premise Kubernetes clusters
  • Deploy and manage databases, monitoring systems, distributed storage, and other core infrastructure
  • Collaborate with software engineers to create scalable, operable, and maintainable products
  • Improve the full service lifecycle from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement
  • Monitor and alert supporting systems to maintain high availability
  • Perform hands-on integration and troubleshooting across the Starlink stack
  • Identify improvements and create solutions that enable high system availability

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems/IT, or an engineering discipline plus at least 1 year of professional Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps experience, or at least 3 years of such experience in lieu of a degree
  • At least 1 year of professional experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other infrastructure tools
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as OCI containers and Kubernetes
  • Scripting experience in Bash, Python, or similar languages
  • Development experience in Python, C++, or Go
  • Preferred: at least 1 year of Python and Python-based development framework experience
  • Preferred: experience managing Kubernetes clusters rather than only using them
  • Preferred: knowledge of the Linux boot process and systems configuration
  • Preferred: understanding of testing, continuous integration, build, deployment, and continuous monitoring
  • Preferred: understanding of build technologies such as Bazel and Makefiles
  • Preferred: experience improving performance bottlenecks
  • Preferred: understanding of distributed databases and data modeling
  • Preferred: experience automatically managing dozens, hundreds, or thousands of servers
  • Preferred: strong TCP/IP networking knowledge
  • Preferred: excellent communication skills
  • Must satisfy applicable ITAR eligibility or authorization requirements
