Lead Software Engineer, AI Labs (Product and Customer Facing)

Responsibilities
- Work with engineers to bring AI theory into customer-facing practice.
- Build tools and pipelines supporting machine learning and artificial intelligence efforts.
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain production software and AI services such as APIs, UIs, and agentic evaluators.
- Roll out scalable cloud architectures and the software that runs on them.
- Gather end-user requirements and support executive presentations.
- Embed with customers and partners to understand their problems and design and implement solutions.
- Field-debug full-stack deployments and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive consensus.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with coursework in Artificial Intelligence is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of industry software engineering experience focused on AI/ML; the posting specifies 7–12 years for Lead roles.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Strong background in APIs, data modeling, and databases.
- Experience with production cloud deployments such as AWS, GCP, or OCI.
- Experience field-debugging full-stack deployments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage stakeholders and drive consensus.
- Understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Passion for continuous learning in AI technologies and enthusiasm for mentoring peers.
- Experience using AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, Envoy, Grafana, React, and Redux, plus UI and graphic design sensibilities.
