Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the Go-based Multigres Kubernetes Operator for orchestrating distributed Postgres deployments
- Design and implement robust deployment patterns for EKS and other Kubernetes platforms
- Manage CSI drivers, persistent volumes, storage layers, and cross-cloud networking
- Develop internal automation and tooling for provisioning, scaling, and managing Multigres clusters
- Build monitoring, alerting, and diagnostic capabilities into the deployment layer
- Collaborate with database engineers, SRE, and product teams to deliver seamless deployment experiences
Requirements
- Proficiency in Go and experience building production-grade operators or controllers
- Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes internals, custom resources, and managed Kubernetes services including EKS, GKE, and AKS
- Understanding of database deployment patterns, backup and restore, replication, and high availability
- Familiarity with distributed systems, consensus protocols, failure scenarios, and resilient system design
- Experience with cloud-native deployment tooling, infrastructure as code such as Terraform or Pulumi, and cloud provider APIs
- A track record of building reliable, observable, and maintainable production systems
- Experience with CSI storage drivers and Kubernetes storage orchestration is preferred
- Knowledge of cross-cloud networking tools such as Cilium, Istio, or similar service mesh technologies is preferred
- Experience with sharded query-serving systems such as Vitess is preferred
- Open-source infrastructure contributions are preferred
