Base Salary
$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy end-to-end machine learning models and infrastructure for Uber Maps applications.
- Design and maintain high-throughput, low-latency prediction systems and APIs handling hundreds of billions of daily requests.
- Develop, debug, and scale distributed data processing and machine learning pipelines.
- Explore approaches to improve logistical efficiency across Uber product verticals.
- Provide technical leadership, own projects, and define technical direction.
- Partner with product managers, scientists, designers, and engineers on solutions to real-world problems.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of machine learning experience, or at least 2 years with a PhD.
- At least 2 years of experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, optimization, signal processing, operational research, or related technical fields.
- Experience developing, debugging, and scaling distributed data processing and ML pipelines.
- Knowledge of development and debugging in Java, Scala, or Golang.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python and shell scripts.
- Experience providing technical leadership, owning projects, and setting technical direction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred: experience architecting large-scale production software applications.
- Preferred: experience productionizing applied machine learning solutions such as graph or graphless prediction and learning to rank.
- Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Benefits
- Base salary for San Francisco and Sunnyvale, California roles is USD $202,000–$224,000 per year.
- Eligible for Uber’s bonus program and potentially equity awards and other compensation.
