Responsibilities
- Support the design and implementation of bare-metal software for power electronics.
- Assist in developing and testing drivers for microcontroller peripherals.
- Collaborate with power electronics controls engineers to translate controls theory into embedded code.
- Gain exposure to battery management systems and their communication protocols.
- Help maintain software build scripts and write testable code.
- Learn to profile and debug embedded code using various tools.
- Contribute to documentation and testing processes for embedded systems.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Coursework or project experience in C, C++, or Rust.
- Some exposure to embedded systems, microcontrollers, or digital logic.
- Familiarity with communication protocols like SPI, I2C, UART, or CAN is a plus.
- Exposure to battery management systems and energy storage fundamentals is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn about safety-critical software.
- Experience with build tools, version control, or debugging hardware is a bonus.
