Responsibilities
- Review requirements and design specifications and create test plans for scrum-team review.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to improve testability and analyze risk early.
- Automate API, integration, end-to-end, and UI testing and integrate deterministic release gates into continuous integration.
- Build scale, performance, and reliability tests for large-tenant campaigns, bulk entitlement operations, and high-volume imports.
- Validate data integrity across identity governance workflows and audit records.
- Review application code, tests, designs, and teammates’ work for reliability, performance, and security.
- Build testing tools and frameworks, reduce test debt, and investigate flaky tests.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across services and improve documentation, CI/CD, monitoring, and support processes.
- Respond to production issues, alerts, and customer escalations during an on-call rotation and convert root causes into automated coverage.
- Partner with product managers, designers, site reliability engineers, field teams, and customer success teams to protect critical customer workflows.
- Work with engineering management to scope and plan quality work across the team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering in test or quality engineering, ideally with enterprise SaaS products.
- 5+ years of experience building test automation in Java; Python or TypeScript experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with API automation using REST or gRPC and UI automation using Playwright, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
- Experience with performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
- Experience with continuous integration, Docker, Kubernetes, and a major cloud platform such as AWS.
- Experience testing distributed, multi-tenant systems at scale, including asynchronous and event-driven workflows.
- Experience using logs and monitoring tools such as Splunk to debug test and production failures.
- Ability to write and review designs and code and deliver high-quality software on schedule.
- Demonstrated ownership of medium-sized features end to end and ability to troubleshoot complex issues with little guidance.
- Strong test planning skills and experience working with product, design, and operations partners.
- Preferred experience with Identity Governance and Administration, including Okta, SailPoint, Saviynt, One Identity, Oracle, or comparable systems.
- Preferred experience with identity and access management, single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, directory integration, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Active Directory, or LDAP.
- Preferred experience testing in compliance contexts such as SOX, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP, including audit evidence validation.
- Experience using AI tools or agents to accelerate test creation, triage, or maintenance is an additional advantage.
