Responsibilities
- Analyze existing and new workloads to identify hardware and software performance bottlenecks.
- Recommend hardware and software improvements in collaboration with developers and silicon teams.
- Identify recurring performance challenges on Apple Silicon and assess emerging usage models.
- Prototype and benchmark algorithms on CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine platforms.
- Analyze performance metrics and create high-level complexity models or develop efficient low-level performance libraries for AI/ML accelerators and GPUs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Software development experience involving AI/ML hardware accelerators, GPUs, image/video encoders, or similar hardware IP.
- Experience with AI/ML, graphics, or HPC performance benchmarks and workloads.
- Preferred: M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Preferred: 10+ years of experience in software performance optimization, performance analysis tools, optimization processes, and efficient computational algorithm development.
- Knowledge of computer architecture fundamentals, operating system internals, and compiler technologies.
- Proficiency in C/C++ family programming languages and scripting languages such as Python.
- Proficiency in AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch and relevant software stacks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, partners, and stakeholders.
