Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor engineers while providing hands-on technical leadership.
- Partner with Engineering Managers to create roadmaps and advance the engineering vision.
- Own high-impact infrastructure projects across teams, organizations, and stakeholders.
- Understand user pain points and apply those insights to difficult infrastructure problems.
- Provide architecture, design, direction, requirements-setting, and incident-response leadership.
- Build and ship secure, reliable, performant, end-to-end APIs.
- Participate in incident response processes and on-call rotations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of technical experience, ideally in infrastructure or platform engineering.
- 5+ years in a strategic technical leadership role above senior level.
- Experience leading engineering teams that build APIs and improve infrastructure efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience working across teams and stakeholders to build infrastructure and products for internal customers.
- Proven ability to deliver pragmatic solutions, ship code quickly, and support business growth.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, Ruby, Python, or Go.
- Ability to work across high-level strategy and detailed coding, with strong problem-solving, communication, autonomy, and collaboration skills.
- Comfort participating in rigorous incident response processes, on-call rotations, and working across time zones, particularly PST.
- Preferred: experience with infrastructure platforms, in-house frameworks and abstractions, serverless platforms, databases, logging, event streams, metrics, and caching.
