Responsibilities
- Design, create, and maintain databases in client/server environments.
- Plan and execute database and associated data migrations from physical or IaaS environments to virtual AWS instances.
- Configure databases for performance, resilience, replication, reporting, administration, backup, and archiving.
- Design and implement complex databases, including SQL access methods, validation, protection, documentation, and statistical methods.
- Perform database programming and support systems design using front-end and back-end programming technologies.
- Contribute to database maintenance runbooks, monitoring standards, file design, storage, and systems integration.
- Develop systems software and deploy build artifacts across different environments using GitFlow constructs.
- Perform automated build, test, and deployment activities while collaborating across Agile teams.
- Conduct software requirements analysis, risk identification, risk mitigation, and delivery-standard improvements.
Requirements
- Software engineering experience with considerable experience developing software code using AWS services and the listed development and delivery tools.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, TestRail, SonarQube, Robot, Python, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Unix Bash scripting, and infrastructure as code.
- Considerable experience translating user stories into engineering deliverables and associated documentation.
- Considerable experience with AWS and expertise across Wintel, Unix, virtualized networking, monitoring, and security environments.
- Experience with automated build, test, and deployment processes and with SAFe.
- Ability to collaborate, work independently in a fast-paced environment, and deliver against milestones and targets.
- Excellent written English and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be a UK citizen and based in the UK for the duration of the role.
- Must have or be able to obtain UK SC clearance; BPSS clearance is required to start and DV clearance may be required depending on the role.
