Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software for flight computers with emphasis on real-time performance and reliability.
- Write and optimize C code for ARM Cortex-M or similar microcontrollers.
- Implement drivers, bootloaders, and middleware for UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and GPIO peripherals.
- Integrate navigation, control, and data-processing algorithms into embedded applications.
- Debug software on custom hardware in collaboration with hardware engineers.
- Perform unit, integration, and system-level testing of embedded software.
- Ensure compliance with safety-critical aerospace standards and real-time system requirements.
- Participate in system architecture design and software code reviews.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of professional embedded software development experience.
- Expertise in C programming for embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex-M.
- Experience designing, coding, and debugging embedded systems.
- Experience with RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS.
- Familiarity with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Strong understanding of deterministic, real-time software design.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes NXP i.MX RT microcontrollers, DO-178C, embedded Linux, avionics or flight computer architectures, Git, CI/CD, assembly language, and Guidance, Navigation, and Control applications.
