Responsibilities
- Design the architecture for a hybrid on-premises and AWS platform and build abstractions for seamless application deployment across environments.
- Develop an Internal Developer Platform and unified developer portal using Backstage or a custom IDP.
- Unify provisioning, management, and operational workflows for Kubernetes clusters across AWS EKS and bare-metal environments, including KubeVirt.
- Build custom platform services, CLI tools, Kubernetes operators, controllers, and automation in Go.
- Partner with network and bare-metal infrastructure engineers on BGP, Linstor, and GlusterFS integrations.
- Define overarching technical strategy and mentor Senior and Lead engineers across teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure and systems engineering, including 2+ years operating at a Staff, Principal, or Tech Lead level.
- Deep expertise in AWS, including EKS, VPC, Direct Connect, and IAM, and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Strong proficiency in Go for building platform automation tools, custom controllers, and operators.
- Expert knowledge of Kubernetes internal architecture, custom resource definitions, and controller design patterns.
- Deep understanding of Internal Developer Platform concepts and developer experience standards, including GitOps, ArgoCD, Service Catalog, and DORA metrics.
- Practical understanding of hybrid network architectures and Zero Trust security principles.
- Preferred experience integrating KubeVirt, Cilium, or OpenTelemetry into platform solutions.
- Background in FinOps and tracking infrastructure Total Cost of Ownership.
