Responsibilities
- Own technical pre-sales end to end, including discovery, scope alignment, gap analysis, solution design, deal support, and delivery handover.
- Architect payment solutions covering payment initiation, PayTo, PayID, direct debit, disbursements, reconciliation, and webhooks.
- Run technical workshops, demos, proofs of concept, sandbox integrations, and API flow testing for technical and executive stakeholders.
- Own technical content for RFPs, RFIs, and tenders and partner with Commercial on positioning and competitive differentiation.
- Answer technical questions about APIs, integration patterns, compliance, and security during sales cycles.
- Feed merchant requirements and competitive gaps into the product roadmap and help ensure smooth customer go-live.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or solution architecture, ideally supporting technical sales cycles.
- Demonstrable payments experience with payment rails, gateways, settlement, and reconciliation; exposure to NPP, PayTo, PayID, BECS, card schemes, or equivalent is valued.
- Strong technical API skills, including reading documentation, constructing and debugging REST calls, interpreting JSON, and reasoning about webhook and event-driven patterns.
- Track record of technical pre-sales discovery, integration scoping, technical and executive presentations, and tender responses.
- Tertiary qualification in computer science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience with code, APIs, or technical systems.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple live deals and stakeholders.
- Self-directed approach and comfort working with ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.
