Responsibilities
- Develop mode-management algorithms and Stateflow-based state machines for ADAS and automated-driving features.
- Design feature arbitration, coordination, engagement, disengagement, degradation, fallback, fault-handling, and driver-takeover logic.
- Translate vehicle-level and system-level requirements into deployable algorithm designs.
- Verify and optimize algorithms through simulation, resimulation, data analysis, and vehicle testing.
- Investigate real-world driving events and troubleshoot complex system behaviors.
- Implement safety monitoring and operational safeguards supporting functional safety and SOTIF activities.
- Collaborate with systems, software, calibration, integration, safety, validation, and HMI teams.
- Document algorithm designs, verification results, technical decisions, and development artifacts.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in ADAS, automated driving, or automotive control-system development.
- Proficiency with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for algorithm design and implementation.
- Experience developing state machines, decision logic, or event-driven control architectures.
- Knowledge of vehicle dynamics, control theory, and systems engineering principles.
- Experience analyzing test data and troubleshooting complex system behaviors.
- Preferred qualifications include a PhD, 5+ years of ADAS or automated-driving experience, L2+ feature development, and feature engagement, arbitration, takeover, and fallback strategy design.
- Preferred experience includes ASPICE, ISO 26262, SOTIF, requirements traceability, model-based design, automatic code generation, MIL/SIL/HIL verification, simulation, and scenario-based validation.
- Preferred experience includes DOORS, Polarion, Codebeamer, version control systems, JIRA, configuration management tools, dSPACE, ControlDesk, CarMaker, CarSim, CANoe, CANape, and ETAS INCA.
- Programming experience in C, C++, and Python is preferred, along with knowledge of driver interaction, HMI integration, statistical methods, system performance evaluation, and root-cause analysis.
