Base Salary

$150k - $234k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical authority and subject matter expertise for detection and tracking algorithms used on OPIR space payloads.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and oversee algorithm development and integration into existing systems and platforms.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate real-time missile detection and tracking algorithms using simulation tools and real-world data.
  • Apply advanced filtering and estimation techniques for target detection, trajectory estimation, state determination, track custody, and target discrimination.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and methodologies relevant to missile detection and tracking.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience, including 6 years of direct experience with detection and tracking algorithms.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in physics, applied mathematics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in real-time detection and tracking algorithms for defense applications.
  • Proficiency with Kalman filtering techniques and their application to missile tracking.
  • Strong programming skills in MATLAB and experience with simulation tools for algorithm development and testing.
  • Existing security clearance, with TS preferred; the position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable time.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D., experience with sensor fusion, multi-target and track-before-detect systems, OPIR applications, infrared or multispectral imagery, digital signal processing, and machine learning techniques for target detection and classification.
