Senior Security Engineer

Responsibilities
- Modify, maintain, and extend CSPM, SAST, SCA, and secret-scanning tooling across engineering and IT environments.
- Identify cloud, dependency, secrets, and code security gaps and drive owning teams through remediation.
- Write code and make infrastructure changes to fix security issues and improve security tooling.
- Own security reviews for new designs, significant changes, and new tools from assessment through resolution.
- Complete a medium-sized security project within the first three months.
- Partner with IT on authentication, authorisation, and corporate security hygiene improvements.
- Guide teams in adopting AI securely and address risks including data leakage, prompt injection, and excessive permissions.
- Support ISO 27001, SOC 2, and other compliance programmes by implementing and evidencing technical controls.
- Own security issues through resolution and communicate with relevant technical teams.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience securing AWS cloud environments using cloud security tooling and code or infrastructure changes.
- Experience securing containerised workloads and infrastructure-as-code before production deployment.
- Experience with SAST, SCA, and secret-scanning tools, including triage, false-positive filtering, and remediation partnership.
- Experience supporting ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR compliance through technical controls and evidence.
- Practical experience using AI in security work and helping others adopt AI safely, including understanding data leakage, prompt injection, and over-permissioned agents or integrations.
- Ability to identify non-technical security risks involving processes, behaviours, and team boundaries.
- Ability to explain complex security concepts clearly, influence engineering teams, and drive implementation.
- Demonstrated ownership of security projects and initiatives through independent completion.
