Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain core ground-segment software and data-handling services for the satellite mesh network.
- Implement and integrate spacecraft-to-ground protocols and services for telemetry, telecommand, and file delivery.
- Develop network software for protocol handling, routing, and reliable high-throughput data transport across a dynamic constellation.
- Design and operate scalable, observable, and resilient cloud-based distributed services.
- Contribute to design reviews, interface definitions, architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with mission analysis, network, platform, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Support other engineers through knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical collaboration.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience building production software and owning significant components or systems.
- Strong software development skills in C/C++, Go, Python, or Rust.
- Solid Linux experience, including development, networking, and work close to the operating system.
- Hands-on experience building and operating distributed services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Network programming experience with sockets, protocol design and implementation, TCP/UDP, and data transport internals.
- Experience with networking protocols and system design.
- Experience with space data systems, Delay Tolerant Networking, mesh networking, or routing protocols is preferred.
- Awareness of secure software development practices and NIS2 and ISO 27001 compliance.
- Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and detail-oriented skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
