Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and implementation of security-focused IAM solutions, including PAM, MFA, JIT access, and vaulting.
- Develop requirements and provide guidance for secure authentication methods using knowledge of threat actor techniques.
- Evaluate and modernize authentication systems and processes, including researching and piloting emerging technologies.
- Develop and improve joiner, mover, leaver, access request, approval, provisioning, and access removal workflows.
- Identify risks and weak configurations in existing environments, proposals, and implementations.
- Contribute to or lead projects involving core authentication systems, phishing-resistant authentication, and risk-based authentication.
- Collaborate with business, technology, infrastructure, cloud, and application development stakeholders.
- Use scripting, APIs, and workflow tools to automate IAM tasks and improve integration reliability.
- Monitor current and emerging threat actor tools, techniques, procedures, and IAM capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with multiple authentication, authorization, and directory platforms.
- At least 5 years of experience with identity security solutions such as CyberArk, Delinea, Duo, or Okta.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise identity platforms such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID and with securing directory services such as Active Directory.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and authentication systems in IaaS environments.
- Deep understanding of NTLM, Kerberos, SAML, OIDC, FIDO2, and WebAuthn authentication protocols.
- Understanding of enterprise network and system components and their roles.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, SSH, DNS, and other network and application protocols.
- Understanding of Zero Trust, just-in-time access provisioning, current threats, and attacker techniques.
- Understanding of identity and access security implications of emerging technologies such as agentic AI and MCP servers.
- Exposure to or working knowledge of identity providers and IGA solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, ownership, and self-reliance skills.
- GIAC, (ISC)2, or similar security certification is preferred.
