Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve compliance, AML, sanctions, PEP, adverse media, transaction screening, and investigation platforms.
- Own the technical lifecycle of screening platforms, including upgrades, vendor releases, roadmaps, and integrations.
- Integrate external screening providers with internal banking applications through APIs and event-driven architectures.
- Translate regulatory requirements into scalable, reliable, compliant technical solutions with Compliance subject-matter experts.
- Implement AI-driven solutions and automation to improve screening, investigation, and engineering operations.
- Ensure auditability, traceability, and regulatory compliance of implemented solutions.
- Manage project implementation timelines, budgets, risks, and dependencies for complex technology initiatives.
- Support stakeholders through actionable data analysis and intuitive data visualizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, preferably in financial services or a regulated environment.
- Experience as a technical operations engineer or application specialist supporting Compliance, AML, KYC, or screening solutions.
- Understanding of sanctions screening, PEP screening, adverse media screening, and AML processes.
- Hands-on experience with API development and system implementation.
- Knowledge of Python, GitHub, Kubernetes or OpenShift, Helm, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, SQL, and PL/SQL.
- Knowledge of Java, Spring, and Neo4j Graph Database is preferred.
- Experience with software implementation, technical project management, messaging, and integration technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English and German, plus an affinity for artificial intelligence and AI-enabled tools.
