Responsibilities
- Define and lead validation and verification strategy for Ford App features, including commerce, in-app purchases, subscriptions, and future mobile-to-vehicle capabilities.
- Design, implement, execute, and review automated and manual test coverage for functional, integration, payment, subscription, and edge-case scenarios across iOS and Android.
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of 2–3 Software QA Engineers and provide technical direction, code and test-design reviews, and execution guidance.
- Own and evolve the mobile automation framework strategy using XCTest/XCUIAutomation, Jetpack Compose Test API, and Espresso.
- Plan and coordinate test execution and delivery schedules across releases, balancing capacity, priorities, and quality commitments.
- Analyze test results, debug automation failures, and perform root cause analysis across application, integration, and environment layers.
- Manage defect documentation, triage, prioritization, and resolution tracking in JIRA.
- Integrate automated test suites into GitHub Actions and collaborate with development teams to maintain reliable feedback loops.
- Maintain test plans, test cases, and automation scripts in Git-based repositories using branching and merging practices.
- Participate in QA hiring, interviewing, technical assessment design, and performance-review input.
- Report test status, coverage, quality metrics, risks, and mitigation plans to engineering leadership.
- Drive QA process improvements and explore web test automation to support future team scaling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software quality assurance or validation experience, with a strong focus on Android and/or iOS mobile application testing.
- Hands-on experience building native mobile test automation with XCTest/XCUIAutomation and/or Jetpack Compose Test API and Espresso.
- Experience testing e-commerce, in-app purchase, or subscription features, including payment processing flows such as Stripe.
- Experience mentoring or providing technical leadership to QA engineers and coordinating test delivery against release milestones.
- Strong experience with Git, including branching and merging strategies.
- Experience with JIRA and automated-test integration into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and root cause analysis skills across application, integration, and environment layers.
- Advanced English skills.
- Preferred experience with mobile-to-vehicle connectivity or projection, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or remote vehicle command and control.
- Preferred experience with Playwright, ISTQB testing principles, ASPICE-aligned validation processes, hiring participation, and scaling QA automation frameworks across platforms or teams.
