Base Salary
$165k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security controls across network, infrastructure, data, and application layers.
- Help create security policies and standards and perform risk assessments and data protection activities.
- Conduct or support penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, red/blue team exercises, and threat modeling.
- Develop automation tooling for threat detection, response, reporting, and security operations.
- Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents with SOC and incident response teams.
- Support NIST and SOX compliance through technical enforcement and documentation.
- Develop security playbooks, runbooks, and operational procedures and recommend proactive measures for emerging threats.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or related roles.
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in Python or Java for automation, scripting, and tool development.
- Hands-on experience with Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, or similar penetration testing tools.
- Knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, Zero Trust Networking, encryption, DLP, and access controls.
- Experience securing web and mobile applications, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, APIs, microservices, and containerized deployments.
- Understanding of SOC workflows, SIEM platforms, and incident response.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Preferred: OSCP, CEH, CISSP, or GIAC certification, secure access framework experience, and contributions to open-source security tools or research.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, independent-work, collaboration, and continuous-learning skills.
