Base Salary
$175k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, implement, test, and integrate embedded firmware and kernel/user-mode device drivers
- Develop stack extensions, debugging utilities, test utilities, and automated unit and system tests
- Integrate device drivers with Linux and AUTOSAR communication stacks
- Configure, control, and monitor communication devices through firmware and expose hardware capabilities through device drivers
- Package drivers into Ethernovia’s SDK for safety-critical automotive applications
- Integrate and test firmware and low-level code with communication hardware and embedded processors
- Follow functional-safety requirements and disciplined software development practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software, or a related field
- 6+ years of work experience
- Proficiency in C/C++; Python experience is a plus
- Experience developing software device drivers, preferably for Ethernet or other communication devices
- Deep understanding of operating systems, kernels, platform/device drivers, Linux, QNX, or real-time operating systems
- Experience integrating and testing operating-system device-driver interfaces
- Hands-on experience with hardware and embedded processors
- For firmware work, experience with embedded firmware, communication devices, firmware integration, and low-level code testing
- Expertise in efficient code practices for code footprint and performance
- Experience with AUTOSAR Communication Stack, MCAL, simulation or emulation platforms, and GNU or similar compiler/debugging suites is desirable
- Knowledge of embedded programming and hardware buses such as I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and USB is desirable
- Experience with automotive or other safety-critical systems using MISRA, ASPICE, or ISO 26262 is desirable
- Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including Ethernet MAC, PHY, switching, TCP/IP, Security, SerDes, PCIe, NTB, and SR-IOV is desirable
- Experience with Perforce, Git, Swarm, Yocto, virtualization, virtualized device drivers, ARM processors, and bootloaders such as U-Boot is desirable
- Strong communication and documentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
