Base Salary
$124k - $222k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop frameworks, automation, and tooling that improve developer efficiency and self-service capabilities.
- Design, implement, test, document, operate, and maintain distributed systems, applications, frameworks, and ML Runtime components.
- Build and maintain infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines for deploying, monitoring, and scaling machine learning runtime environments.
- Deploy and orchestrate production containers using Kubernetes, Docker, service mesh technologies, ArgoCD, and related tools.
- Develop products and services that streamline developer interactions with the ML platform.
- Work with public cloud infrastructure and apply capacity management principles.
- Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, and technical leads to define requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Research, evaluate, prototype, and adopt ML tools with an emphasis on reliability and scale.
- Build monitoring services, proactively resolve issues, maintain documentation and runbooks, and participate in rotational on-call support.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required because the role supports U.S. federal government contracts.
- At least 3 years of DevOps experience, including infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Proficiency in Python programming and system design, including comprehensive technical design documentation.
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker for scaling software development efforts.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and deployment tools such as Git, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
- Experience with machine learning, RESTful services, communication protocols, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Experience building monitoring services and using monitoring tools such as Grafana.
- Experience with enterprise SaaS products, technical documentation, runbooks, and rotating on-call support.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- Experience leading or mentoring team members and collaborating effectively across teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; active TS/SCI with CI Poly is preferred.
Benefits
- Annualized base salary ranges from $137,000 to $205,400 for the primary Reston, Virginia location and from $123,900 to $222,000 for additional U.S. locations.
- The role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus and annual refresh stock grants.
- Flexible work arrangement requiring at least 50% of time each quarter in the office or in the field, with remote home-office flexibility.
