Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack and backend services, APIs, microservices, and supporting JavaScript and Node.js applications.
- Contribute to the architecture, modernization, scaling, performance, reliability, and security of large-scale distributed and cloud-native systems.
- Develop and deploy services using AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, Auto Scaling, and CloudFormation.
- Work with relational databases supporting high-volume, data-driven applications.
- Build, optimize, and operate containerized services across the platform.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, and apply DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot production issues, improve monitoring, and optimize system performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent education.
- 10+ years of experience building and operating software applications or platform-level systems.
- Strong Java proficiency with working knowledge of JavaScript and/or Node.js.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Bash scripting.
- Experience with relational databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or MariaDB.
- Proficiency in Linux environments, including Red Hat and CentOS.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.
- Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed system design.
- Proficiency with Git-based repositories such as GitLab and GitHub and modern development workflows including CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience with containers and containerized deployments.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, testing, and secure coding practices.
- US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, Terragrunt, Ansible, CloudFormation, Hadoop, Spark, Yarn, Hive, Trino, RBAC, ABAC, multi-tenant or high-availability platforms, security hardening, and AWS certifications.
