Responsibilities

  • Contribute to next-generation AI inference infrastructure and software technologies.
  • Optimize AI models and inference workloads for GPUs and emerging accelerators.
  • Develop compiler, runtime, programming language, library, and model-serving technologies.
  • Build or scale distributed AI systems, cloud infrastructure, and multi-node or multi-cluster deployments.
  • Develop automated performance, quality, testing, evaluation, benchmarking, and reliability frameworks.
  • Improve platform, developer, CI/CD, build, release automation, and developer productivity tooling.
  • Support software development, full-stack engineering, security engineering, or open-source technology projects depending on project assignment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. program in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, mathematics, artificial intelligence, or a related technical field.
  • Available for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2027, between May and September.
  • Expected graduation date of November 2027 or later.
  • At least 1 year of academic or project experience with Python, C, C++, Rust, Go, or related programming languages.
  • Preferred experience includes machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, LLMs, transformer architectures, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
  • Preferred knowledge includes compiler design, runtime implementation, programming languages, MLIR, LLVM, GCC, TVM, or XLA.
  • Preferred experience includes parallel computing, GPU programming, high-performance computing, CUDA, ROCm, accelerator programming, kernel optimization, or computer architecture.
  • Preferred experience includes AI/ML model optimization, quantization, profiling, benchmarking, inference optimization, and performance analysis.
  • Preferred experience includes distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, model serving, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, and scalable inference systems.
  • Preferred experience includes systems programming, application development, operating systems, APIs, software libraries, developer tooling, testing, CI/CD, and developer productivity tools.
  • Preferred familiarity includes AI/ML evaluation, unit and integration testing, regression detection, observability, reliability engineering, reproducibility, and failure analysis.
  • Preferred familiarity with NVIDIA Nsight Systems, Nsight Compute, PyTorch Profiler, Linux perf, Intel VTune, or similar profiling tools.
  • Preferred knowledge or interest includes software security, AI security, secure development, data protection, access controls, and secure AI systems.
  • Open-source contributions, technical documentation, developer education, research experience, or relevant publications are advantageous.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, curiosity, and learning skills are preferred.
