Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operationalize systems using large language models and multimodal models.
  • Build and integrate LLM-powered features, including retrieval-augmented generation, agent frameworks, tool use, and conversational interfaces.
  • Evaluate and implement open-source and commercial foundation models for text, code, image, and multimodal applications.
  • Develop embedding pipelines, vector search, and hybrid search strategies.
  • Build software involving distributed systems, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, and real-time inference services.
  • Apply performance optimization, testing strategies for AI systems, and observability practices.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another applicable field.
  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university.
  • Expected graduation date of Spring 2028 or later.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Available to work 16–20 hours per week during the academic year and 30–40 hours per week during the summer semester.
  • Must be able to commute to the work location on scheduled workdays.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Preferred experience with LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex.
  • Preferred proficiency in Python and Java with hands-on experience in LLM workflows.
  • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is preferred.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in distributed systems, API development, and performance optimization are preferred.
  • Experience with microservices, event-driven systems, or real-time inference services is preferred.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, AI-system testing strategies, and observability tools is preferred.
