Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of video processing and ad insertion software integrated with Hotstar media pipelines.
- Architect video solutions for quality, robustness, scale, and efficient processing of massive content volumes.
- Prototype and integrate emerging media technologies including AI-driven quality assessment and dynamic bitrate optimization.
- Design and implement algorithms for encoding efficiency and video intelligence.
- Build automated video quality control systems for source content and encoded JioHotstar streams.
- Implement media features in live-streaming workflows with observability and resiliency.
- Provide functional leadership, technical guidance, and expertise to team members.
- Collaborate with research and product teams to evaluate and integrate next-generation video technologies.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in multimedia software development; the preferred profile has 7 to 9 years of experience.
- Expert proficiency in C++ or Java and strong object-oriented programming fundamentals.
- Deep understanding of audio and video compression and processing, including video codecs, HDR, audio codecs, immersive formats, and 360VR or 3D video.
- Strong background in image and signal processing, including algorithm design and implementation.
- Experience with live-streaming workflows, systems, streaming protocols, and network topologies.
- Hands-on experience with FFmpeg, GStreamer, NVIDIA DeepStream, x265, and SVT-AV1.
- Experience with large-scale distributed systems and cloud-computing platforms.
- Knowledge of HLS, DASH, CMAF, encryption standards, CDN architectures, and delivery mechanisms.
- Experience with machine learning and GenAI systems applied to media processing.
- Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent; an MS or PhD is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, collaboration, and independent execution skills.
