Responsibilities
- Partner with Product Managers and Designers to understand user needs, challenge ideas, and co-create product solutions.
- Own features end-to-end from initial concept and design through release and ongoing improvement.
- Build, ship, test, monitor, and scale software while balancing delivery speed, quality, and business impact.
- Contribute to frontend and backend development across Malt’s product platform.
- Review code, share knowledge, use pair programming when appropriate, and help raise the team’s engineering standards.
- Improve engineering practices and make pragmatic technical decisions based on context.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience in software development, including initial experience in a product company such as a SaaS, fintech, or marketplace business.
- High proficiency in Java or Kotlin and comfort with complex backend architecture, APIs, and data models.
- Initial experience with TypeScript and willingness to learn Nuxt and Vue.js.
- A product-engineering mindset with curiosity about user needs, proactive improvement ideas, and ownership of delivery from end to end.
- Knowledge of modern software architecture and the ability to adapt practices pragmatically.
- Experience owning the software lifecycle, including CI/CD, testing, observability, and monitoring.
- Fluent English communication skills in speaking and writing.
