Responsibilities
- Own and operate a fully automated server lab containing current server and network silicon
- Develop MAAS software in Python to support a broad range of server and network hardware
- Create MAAS integrations with testing and scheduling software such as Testflinger
- Manage the physical lab setup and execute changes directly or through remote hands
- Standardize lab processes, configurations, and procedures with engineers in other data centers
- Improve and extend automated hardware and network monitoring
- Maintain accurate and complete hardware asset records
- Update equipment firmware when appropriate or needed
- Interact with vendors and handle equipment deliveries
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- Experience programming in Python
- Linux administration experience
- Experience with rack and virtual systems
- Clear and effective English communication skills
- Strong time management and ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to work effectively with a globally distributed engineering team
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and preferably university
- Willingness to travel up to four times per year for internal events
