Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using Python and Django.
- Build and enhance backend services, RESTful APIs, integrations, and application components.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and support.
- Extend and maintain a mature Django-based platform while following existing architectural patterns and append-only schema migration practices.
- Integrate third-party tools that produce structured reports, normalize their outputs, and implement correct deduplication semantics.
- Author and maintain unit tests and browser-driven end-to-end tests where appropriate.
- Apply secure, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented coding practices.
- Participate in code reviews, defect resolution, technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and software quality improvements.
- Support deployment activities and collaborate with DevOps teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous integration and deployment activities.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong practical Python programming experience and proven backend development experience with Django.
- Practical experience with Django REST Framework and OpenAPI/schema tooling.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
- Experience with Docker, containerized environments, Linux, bash, log inspection, and container troubleshooting.
- Experience using Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Awareness of Ruff, Flake8, or equivalent static-analysis and linting tools, including warnings-as-errors practices.
- Knowledge of software testing principles and development best practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Preferred: familiarity with Celery, Redis or Valkey, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, Selenium, Playwright, jQuery, Bootstrap, security scanner formats, vulnerability-management concepts, Azure, AWS, secure development, cybersecurity, and AI/ML applied to software engineering.
- Fluent written and spoken English plus fluent French or Dutch; knowledge of the third national language is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, autonomy, quality focus, and willingness to learn.
