Responsibilities
- Participate in or lead solution, roadmap, and architectural recommendation efforts.
- Facilitate or execute architecture governance processes, including blueprint and design reviews.
- Implement strategies for application stability and performance, including design, debugging, and performance analysis.
- Influence adoption of new concepts, techniques, best practices, guidelines, models, and technologies.
- Collaborate with architects, development groups, and OAI-Sys employees.
- Own deliverables for enterprise initiatives, Centers of Excellence, product evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and application utilities where assigned.
- Contribute to vendor and product management strategies for required infrastructures and frameworks.
- Provide architecture guidance to development teams and engage business stakeholders to translate requirements into IT solutions.
- Support project-level planning, budgeting, and estimating while managing cross-functional objectives and priorities.
Requirements
- Experience and knowledge in multiple technologies and architectures is required.
- Working knowledge of enterprise, application, and information architecture, architecture technology directions, product or project management, and the software development life cycle.
- General knowledge of Java, .NET, SQL, service-oriented architecture, and technical reference architectures.
- Experience with J2EE, web application development, SOAP, XML, REST, application frameworks, middleware, relational databases, content management, business intelligence, data warehouses, ETL, transaction design, application integration, and performance engineering.
- Experience influencing people in a matrixed organization and engaging business stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze novel or ambiguous issues, develop solutions from abstract information, prioritize independently, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to maintain organizational partnerships, influence peers and management, manage cross-functional priorities, and provide architecture guidance to development teams.
- Insurance industry experience is identified as general knowledge.
