Base Salary
$216k - $324k/yr
Responsibilities
- Independently own and drive high-impact technical objectives across multiple Data Platform teams.
- Align technical roadmaps to ensure coherent investments against shared priorities.
- Lead large, complex cross-team initiatives from discovery through rollout.
- Make high-judgment architectural decisions across core platform systems.
- Establish standards and shared abstractions to improve data system operations.
- Partner with engineering, product, analytics, and governance stakeholders.
- Drive alignment on complex projects by clarifying trade-offs and dependencies.
- Be accountable for the long-term technical health of the systems in scope.
- Respond to complex platform issues and implement lasting improvements.
- Mentor senior and lead engineers through design reviews and architectural coaching.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with deep knowledge of distributed systems.
- Expertise in core Data Platform areas such as lakehouse architecture and data ingestion.
- Experience leading large, ambiguous, multi-quarter programs.
- Strong hands-on experience with systems like Iceberg, Spark, and Airflow.
- Understanding of trustworthy data platform operations including schema evolution and observability.
- Effective at driving outcomes through influence and technical leadership.
- Passionate about mentoring engineers and improving team workflows.
