$171k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and expand backend fare systems and features for Uber’s Marketplace Fares team.
- Develop framework infrastructure that supports customizable fare configurations across Uber businesses and markets.
- Work across multiple backend services and scalable distributed systems.
- Collaborate with product, operations, data science, and engineering teams on high-impact projects.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, unit testing, and integration testing.
- Participate in periodic on-call rotations and respond to critical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.
- At least 4 years of total software development experience as a backend developer.
- Strong coding and debugging abilities in at least one programming language, primarily Go or Python.
- Experience building highly available distributed systems at scale and working across multiple backend services.
- Experience with scalable backend systems using a microservices architecture.
- High standards for quality demonstrated through code reviews, documentation, unit and integration testing.
- Background in payments or fintech engineering is preferred.
Benefits
- For San Francisco and Sunnyvale, California-based roles, the base salary range is USD $171,000-$190,000 per year.
- Eligibility for Uber’s bonus program and potential equity awards and other compensation for US roles.
- Full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan and receive various benefits.
- Periodic on-call rotations are part of the role.
