Responsibilities

Work remotely or on-site as necessary with customer engineering teams to design and implement LiveKit applications
Design scalable architectures for voice AI, real-time media, and developer platform use cases
Build prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample applications
Help customers use SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies in production
Debug and troubleshoot complex production issues
Lead technical workshops and architecture sessions
Translate customer needs into technical insights for product and platform development
Partner with Product and Engineering to improve developer experience, documentation, and tooling
Contribute code, examples, or improvements to LiveKit’s open-source ecosystem
Advise customers through successful application launches and scaling

5+ years of backend or infrastructure engineering experience
Proficiency in one or more of Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++
Experience working across APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
Experience building or integrating developer platforms or real-time systems
Ability to understand complex systems quickly and debug real-world technical issues
Strong communication and collaboration skills with customer engineering, Product, and Engineering teams
Willingness to work hands-on with customers in a fast-paced, low-process environment
Preferred experience with WebRTC, real-time media systems, or telephony/SIP infrastructure
Preferred familiarity with voice AI, conversational agents, or AI infrastructure
Preferred experience in customer-facing engineering roles such as Solutions Engineer, Field Engineer, or Forward Deployed Engineer
Preferred open-source or developer ecosystem contributions
Previous experience building with or integrating LiveKit is a plus
