Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy infrastructure in AWS.
- Design and implement software architecture and capabilities from prototype through operational applications.
- Develop custom software components and integrate open-source code for complex technical problems.
- Use infrastructure-as-code and modern tools to define, build, and manage cloud virtual infrastructure.
- Manage Kubernetes environments, storage layers, Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, and applications.
- Use Python or Go and shell scripting to enhance, optimize, and troubleshoot existing codebases and infrastructure.
- Identify and resolve complex problems autonomously while working toward strategic goals set by team architects.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of Platform Engineering or Software Development experience with a bachelor’s degree, 7 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree, or 13 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- U.S. citizenship is required; candidates must be eligible for a Secret-level security clearance, with current Secret or TS clearances also considered.
- Experience developing and deploying infrastructure in AWS.
- Experience with Kubernetes or a vendor distribution of Kubernetes, Ansible, and storage layers such as Ceph, Rook, or Longhorn.
- Programming experience with Python or Go.
- Strong understanding of Linux systems, hosts, networks, security, and applications, with shell scripting proficiency.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab-CI, Travis-CI, or Jenkins is desired.
- Familiarity with DISA’s Big Data Platform or systems such as Cloudera Distribution of Hadoop, Hortonworks Data Platform, or MapR is desired.
- Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Maven, or virtualization platforms such as oVirt, Proxmox, or VMware is desired.
- DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level II compliance certifications may be required.
- Strong problem-solving, oral communication, and written communication skills.
